Feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the planning and prep for Thanksgiving? Here are a few last minute tips and tricks to make it a little easier.
When done planning, I suggest grabbing a bottle of wine, a cozy blanket, and heading out to nature to fully enjoy this holiday season.
Used To Style
- Pumpkin flower arrangments
- Ivory tablecloth
- Boxes of apples
- Wood slabs, whitewashed chargers, basket plate holders
- Burlap utensil holders
- Acorn candles
- Wood plank sign
- 3-Piece Antique Round Floral Mirror-Top Decorative Tray Set (Gold)
- Vintage Floral 3-Piece Metal Candelabra Set (Gold)
1). I love pumpkin flower arrangements. They are so simple and easy to make. For my tablescape, I used 3 pumpkins in various sizes and color. If you are making the arrangements ahead of time, I suggest using dried foliage and silk flowers instead of fresh florals. You get the same effect but you won’t have to worry about keeping them alive. Simply carve a large opening at the top of the pumpkin and stuff with flowers. The wilder the arrangement the better!
2). Layers, layers, layers! Think of your place setting like lasagna, the more layers the better. Mix and match different textures, colors, shapes, and sizes, to create a more interesting place setting. I layered a wood slab, whitewashed charger, basket plate holder, and finally a vintage looking saucer. Add the finishing touches with a folded napkin, place card, and utensil holder.
3). Use food to accent the décor. To fill in empty spaces I used wood boxes with apples piled in them. This is such an easy trick that I use ALL the time. Try using nuts, rolls, fruit, or finger foods for guests to snack on while they are waiting for dinner.
