Wish Upon a Star

Wish upon a star this New Years!

A brand new year means brand new opportunities. It’s time to dream big, set your intentions, and start wishing because no request is too extreme.

I challenge you to write down your wishes, put them in a bottle, and wait to see what the New Year has in store for you!

Let’s send our wishes into the stars with fireworks, confetti, and of course a champagne toast.

I can hardly wait for our wishes to come true!

Used to Style

  • Purple, black, blue, teal, and white balloons
  • Paper star pipe cleaner picks
  • Black triangle banner
  • DIY confetti
  • Star straws
  • Wishes in a bottle
  • Fairy lights
  • Posterboard sign “Wish upon a Star”
  • White round cake with shooting star topper
  • 12 Inch Round Modern Metal Black Cake Stand Amalfi

Styling Tips

1).Balloon Galaxy – Create your own galaxy by using various sizes of balloons, fishing line and a needle to thread the tails of the balloons together. Add shooting stars for more dimension. Simply cut out paper stars and glue them to the ends of sparkly pipe cleaners.

2). Cake Topper – I’m always looking for a quick shortcut when planning parties. My go-to trick is buying a pre-made white cake from the local grocery store and adding an easy DIY topper. To recreate the shooting star cake, start by cutting out stars from cardstock. Next, use hot glue to attach the stars to wooden skewers. Place the skewers on top of the cake alternating hights. I displayed my semi-homemade cake on a modern black cake stand from Amalfi Decor. So quick and easy!

3). Wishes in a Bottle – Parties with intentions are my favorite and it can be as simple as making a wish! You can use any style of bottle for this activity. (I used cork bottles found at the Dollar Store). Add ribbon, sparkling pipe cleaner, a large tag, and most importantly your wish. Guests will have fun setting their New Years intentions and sending them off into the universe like a message in a bottle at sea.

Do you have a special occasion that you would like to share? I’d love to see it!
